I'm clean. I don't need to get tested!

GET TESTED! Even if you're single, entangled or in some form of committed monogamous relationship.

 -  When was the last time you were                         tested?
 -  When was the last time your partner                   was tested?

Many sexually transmitted infection (STI) are asymptomatic.  Unfortunately, there are people that are passing these infections around because they do not have any signs and symptoms of sexually transmitted disease (STD).

Herpes and syphilis are tremendously on the rise. You will be surprised how many people are walking around with positive result(s) and lackadaisical attitude about getting full course treatment and/or practicing safe sex.

Know your status and that of your current and potential partner(s).

Your STD status might help you clarify your relationship status.

Unfortunately, STD testing is not part of your routine medical check-up or yearly physical. You have to specifically ask your medical provider for STD test even if you are asymptomatic. Don't be shy to list what all you want to be tested for.

Gonorrhea, Chlamydia   = Urine test or Swab
Herpes, Syphilis, hepatitis, HIV = Blood test
